Presenting the Syrian new Scots information literacy findings at CILIP 2017 Conference in Manchester

The project team is delighted to report that the Syrian new Scots Information Literacy practices  project has now been completed.  We have already presented on the preliminary research findings at several conferences including LILAC 2017.  The final findings from the research will be published  in upcoming journal articles. In the meantime, you can request the full project report from Dr Konstantina Martzoukou.

We would like to thank CILIP Information Literacy Group for this very valuable opportunity to conduct the research. It was an extremely enriching experience and it would have never been materialised without the group's continuous support. This was the fifth completed project funded by a research bursary from the CILIP Information Literacy Group.

Next week you will find us at the  CILIP 2017 conference in Manchester (5th - 6th July) http://bit.ly/conf17sp.  The CILIP Conference is "one of the biggest events in the calendar for UK library and information professionals, bringing together people from across the sector for two days of collaboration, debate, inspiration and networking".

There are many interesting sessions and speakers and the programme contains the details of our talk which will take place on Thursday 6th July in the afternoon as part of the 'Information Literacy Seminar'. The session chair is  Stéphane Goldstein, Executive Director of InformAll. For full details of each session in the seminar and other information on the programme of the conference  you can follow the event on twitter #CILIPConf17. In addition there are two very important keynotes by Dr Carla Hayden, Librarian of Congress and Professor Luciano Floridi of the Oxford Internet Institute. Additional information can be found on the keynotes page.  We are very privileged to be presenting at this very important conference.

For our presentation, we are planning to share the final results of the project from all three geographical locations we involved and with examples of additional drawings and narratives from the participant focus groups.

Our presentation will focus on the thematic areas presented below.

We hope to see you at CILIP conference in Manchester next week!
